Job purpose

The Officer, Investment through the supervision of the Investment Manager will be responsible for managing investment portfolios, conducting in-depth analysis, and preparing comprehensive investment reports. The role also involves assisting in the evaluation of various treasury activities, maintaining banking relationships, and managing a range of internal and external risks, including foreign exchange risk.

Job duties and responsibilities

  • Assess portfolio performance and ensure accurate investment reconciliation
  • Ensure all required investment documents are properly signed and maintained.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast market trends and evaluate potential investments
  • Monitor portfolio performance, assess risks and adjust strategies to optimize returns.
  • Conduct in-depth research on securities and asset classes to support investment decision-making.
  • Analyse financial data, identify key trends, and present reports to the Investment committee and stakeholder
  • Utilize financial models and forecasting techniques to assess potential investment outcomes
  • Monitor competitor strategies and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Analyse market, credit, and liquidity risks associated with different investment strategies.
  • Ensure that all investments comply with relevant regulatory standards and corporate governance practices.
  • Work closely with the risk and compliance teams to maintain transparency and accountability in all investment decisions.

 Candidate Profile

  Qualifications

  • A relevant degree

Professional qualifications

  • Pursuing a professional investment qualification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent is an added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in investment

 Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent financial modelling and forecasting abilities.
  • Deep knowledge of equity and fixed income markets.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
