WAICA Reinsurance Corporation Plc marked a significant corporate milestone with the commissioning of its Headquarters Building on 31st March 2026. At 4A Alshek Crescent, Hill Station, Freetown, Sierra Leone, under the Distinguished Grand Chief Patronage of His Excellency, Brigadier (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The commissioning ceremony was graciously performed by the President, His Excellency, Brigadier (Rtd.) Dr. Julius Maada Bio, and was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, the Commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Arthur Yaskey, Members of the Diplomatic Core, Shareholders, and key stakeholders from the insurance industry and other partners.
Members of the WAICA Re Group Board of Directors, past and present, also graced the occasion. The Chairman of the Group Board, Mr Kofi Duffuor and the Group Managing Director/CEO, Mr Ezekiel A. Ekundayo, respectively, made statements at the commissioning event reaffirming WAICA Re’s commitment to providing unmatched reinsurance solutions.
